Andrea Rinard is the author of Murmurations (EastOver, 2023), and other work found in Brevity; Flash Fiction Magazine; X-R-A-Y Literary Magazine, and Harpur Palate, among others. She’s been nominated for The Pushcart Prize, Best Short Fiction, and Best of the Net. She’s also the 2020 winner of the Key West Literary Seminar’s Marianne Russo Award for an emerging novelist. Focusing primarily on projects that center women and their relationships, Andrea’s writing, according to author Kathy Fish, explores, “girlhood and womanhood, the dangers and discoveries, the secrets and betrayals, and the things we trade for love.”

Andrea is a former high school English teacher who decided to go back to being a student. Since earning an MFA from the University of South Florida, she leads the USF Youth Experiences summer creative writing program and teaches creative writing at Ringling College of Art and Design. A native Floridian who wears shoes against her will, Andrea lives in Tampa with her 1988 Prom date, three adult kids, and two dogs.
